Set Design and lighting plans
On Tuesday, we will be meeting with our lighting designer, who will also help to build the sets. To prepare for this, we drew bout of our sets from front on angle, and a birds eye view. We labelled everything to make our vision as clear and simple as possible, including the dimensions for the platforms.
We then also printed off some reference photos, so the designers had an even clearer idea of what we were envisioning.
Feedback
We didn't receive much feedback because our idea is quite simple and we spent a long time planning it out. However, our main aspect we need to think about is positioning our cast. Because we only have a small studio, we need to remember that we won't be able to spread out our band members too much, and to also keep the set as small as possible. This is because not only will we have our band and dancer(s), but there will also be all the cameras, lights, and the whole crew.
We also need to think about how we would position our dancer if, because of COVID-19 guidelines, we can only have five cast members. This might mean changing the band to a three piece band, or only having one dancer.
