Costumes

Costumes

Now that we've been put into groups, we decided that we were going to go with my 60s idea, but then use Chloe and Gabi's ideas of silhouettes of girls for the third part that I was missing. We have to present a treatment on Wednesday so I'm going to make a post about our first ideas for costumes.

The band:

For our four piece boy band, I wanted to chose outfits that...
-work well with the genre
-match together
-represent the 60s
-will be relatively easy to find

The style: mid to late 60s, Mod and Psychedelic influences

Jackets: Bright block coloured fitted blazers
with mock neck sweaters, turtle necks or button up shirts

Crushed Velvet was also a very popular material:

or bright coloured suede trucker jackets: earth tones

Trousers: Stripes, denim, velvet, colourful or white
mostly tight fitting and straight legged

For one scene, all the boys will be in different coloured 'John Lennon' circle lenses

The dancers:

-There will be four dancers, and ideally they will be in the same outfits or at least matching with perhaps different colours. Again they need to:
-work well with the genre
-match together
-represent the 60s
-will be relatively easy to find

The style: mid to late 60s, Mod and Psychedelic influences

-Go-Go dancers often wore mod style mini dresses or matching sets with fringe
-Often colourful but black and white was also very popular

Makeup would be Twiggy/Jean Shrimpton inspired as it was the most popular

And hairstyles would be a beehive (back combed), Bubble flips or curls at the end, preferably a fringe
