About the band:
-The Kinky Velvets are a trio from Southern California
-they're a indie/ alternative rock boy band
-Their music sounds similar to bands like Oasis, Cage The Elephant and especially Arctic Monkeys
Video idea:
-For this music video, I thought about the title being 'Locked away' so I started to think of lots of colourful locked doors on the a plain black set
-the music starts with one guitar, and then after a few bars, each instrument is added in, so I thought it would be cool for the first guitarist to open each door to a new member of the band playing the instrument (and they're each dressed in a colour to match the door)
-once we meet all the members and the lead singer, the singer would open the last door, see a girl there but she shuts it. When he opens it again, she is gone
- throughout the video, he tries to find the girl but she keeps appearing behind different doors
-but at the end, he manages to open all the doors at the same time, but she isn't behind any of them :(((
-this works well with the track because the lyrics are a bit moody and doesn't end happily- so although there are many bright colours to contrast the lyrics, the narrative ending with him not getting the girl, matches up with the emotions of the song.
-This is good for the star image because we can see the lead singer as being a bit of a hopeless romantic, so he can connect with the audience
-we are also introduced to the other band members and what instruments they play.
