Music video feedback and development

 Music video feedback and development

In class today, I presented my first music video idea for feedback from the group so I could develop my idea further, and so Mike would get an idea of what group I should be in.

Audio recording of Mike and my class's feedback:

Here are some of the main points of feedback:

What was liked:

-It's different to the other ideas, and authentic
-the song is a different genre to usual
-has a good vibe and aesthetic
-easy to picture
-quite achievable and easy to make work
-good length of song

What needs to be thought about:

-most of the video will be costume which probably won't be a
problem for girls but might be trickier for boys
-What pictures are gonna be on the projector? A few more ideas
-either go completely 60s, combination of 60s and modern, or
 modern playing into the 60s

What needs to be added:

-needs something else: another 60s type element
-maybe with lighting or effects, just to keep it interesting
-close up of makeup, maybe fish-eye lens, could add a vintage filter

Development:

-I looked online to find photos or videos to be projected onto the
dancers, and I found lots of really cool 'liquid light shows' which
they used to play in the 60s.
-the videos on youtube go on for hours so there will be plenty
 of footage to use

-This will also look so cool in front of the band
members too, and really bring the psychedelic feel to the video

-Something else I needed to think about was
another 60s type element:
I have the performance part where the band our playing, I have the
girls dancing infant of the projector, but to make sure it stays
interestingI need one more scene:

-I didn't want to come up with another elaborate set or anything, and
I like how the video isn't to difficult to do, so a simple idea would
be a way for the girls and boys to be in the same scene, or just to
change it up a little

-I'd like it to be a birds eye view shot, looking down on the boys
and girls lying in a circle on either a green screen, or just a funky
patterned floor:

-I think it would also be funny if the boys were still playing their
instruments too, maybe the drummer with bongos or just the sticks

-they could still be singing into the camera too, or maybe this is where the liquid light show would project on them

-this scene could have a fish eye lens or kaleidoscope to keep it
interesting too, although I don't want there to be too many effects or
constant effects
