Draft campaign post 1
In todays lesson, my group got together to show our progress with each of our products, and give and receive feedback, so we could improve our designs. The Digipak (me)
I didn't have time to do the shoot before this meeting, but i did have the finished sketches done so my group could see the idea and roughly how it would look.
The feedback
-What works/what they liked:
-They both really liked the photos, and how the boys are arranged in each image. It shows how they are all equal in the band, but also suggests, especially in the first one, who the lead singer is.
-The font choice was also enjoyed, as it fits well with the genre, and keeps it exciting
-Using the logo for the Inside right cover worked well too, as it bought in another feature/symbol of the band
-What needs to change/be added
-Gabi suggested that the title and name of band might look better in a different colour, aswell as the logo on the inside
-it was also bought up that i need to think about which font i should use on the back cover for the track list
-(perhaps changing the numbers to different colours)
-also to move the barcode to the bottom as thats where it should be
-also, as there will be grain/a vintage filter on the images, it might not look as vibrant so i need to take that the colour pallet/saturation into consideration
The editing (Gabi)
The feedback i gave:
-i really like the energy of the video, and i think it keeps up well with the tempo, and therefore the genre
-i also like the transitions and how in the different shots, the band is swapping places
-one thing i noticed was during Zac's guitar solo, there was a bit of wall showing that didn't have projections on, and it would look cleaner/more professional if it was zoomed in a tad to remove that wall.
What i liked
-I think she chose a really great picture for the background, as it shows all the members clearly, and shows who the lead singer is, as 'Ronnie' is in the centre.
-the aesthetic looks great and the colour scheme matches the genre and the 60s vibe
-i also love how she put the logo in the top left corner. The black and white stands out, and most classic rock websites had their logo or symbol on the home page
What could be added/changed
-this is early stages in the website design, so there aren't all the elements added yet, but adding the music video to the front, and maybe a photo gallery would be good, to show their music and a bit more of what the band is like and their personalities.
-she could also make the writing on the right that leads to different pages bigger and maybe change the font.
-also add in the links to the other social media.
-i really love how she kept to the colour scheme of the band, with the warm tones (oranges, browns etc...)
-also this mix of videos and photos keeps it exciting
-the 'meet the band' feature is a great idea especially since our campaign is of a new artist
-the behind the scenes of the music video creates excitement around the video
What could be added/changed
-Chloe could add some instagram highlights, such as behind the scenes photos, or a short QandA with the band members
-a countdown feature for the album release would be a great way to keep fans excited and remind them about the upcoming new music
