What's on a website homepage?

 What's on a website homepage?

There are many important aspects and elements of a successful, and easy to navigate, home page, for an artist or band...

Logos

-The bands logo is almost always featured, as it creates consistency and is part of the band's image and aesthetic.

Banners

The websites of the classic rock genre also all have a banner at the top of the website- not only is it decorative but it shows the logo, and often a picture of the band, or a photo of them performing live. This is also where all the other tabs are for the other sections of the website.

New updates

On all of the websites, there is an update section, where the bands show the latest news, such as a new special edition product, a new tour, a band members birthday, or a competition.

Social media links

Another item included on the website homepage are links to the bands social medias, all in the same place, represented by the social media symbols- this way, the fans and viewers know exactly what to look for to find their social medias. There is also sometimes an option to join a fan club, newsletter or to receive emails of the bands updates.

Merchandise

One of the main ways bands make money is through merchandise. Because of this, it needs to be very easy to find, and look good to attract potential buyers. On many of the websites, you can reach the merchandise either by scrolling down on the homepage, or clicking on a separate link at the top or side of the homepage.

Contact

Some websites also have a place where fans and viewers can contact the people behind the website. This creates a personal connection and suggests that they value interactions with fans. It's also a convenient way for other business to get in touch, to collaborate.
